Today it is Denise’s Day. She was baptized today eleven years ago in Djursholms Kapell, Sweden. It is a good day filled with good energy for a power walk in the jungle. Please take a walkabout with me, and I will show you around.....

From our house, you walk downhill for a moment, before you turn right. After five minutes you are in the jungle - peace! Yet, I have not met any snakes, just butterflies, birds (kollibris and other beautiful species I do not know the names of....), horses and a sometimes a donkey.

It seems like if the time stands still in the jungle, at the same time as everything is vibrating. Alive and ageless.

Some fences are the only proof there are human beings around now and then....

​In April we experienced the hottest month ever - could not move without sweating, nor sit still without sweating! Sunshine every day and dry fields around us. Then something changed... Fresh rainfalls leaves the air filled with oxygen and running is more pleasant, except for that the shoes get really dirty! 
In the morning, our balconies are filled with insects like this beauty and other creatures with six legs....

Normally, there are not many Swedes around, but all of a sudden there was an invasion in Potrero. And what do Scandinavians do when they smell other Scandinavians? - Yes, we gather - one for all, all for one! Thanks Bahía del Sol for hosting!

For our microfinanced educational project, we needed volounteers for our training in beauty treatment - this time manicure. How convenient to have brother Fredrik, niece Emma, nephew Jimmy, cousin Micael with sons Victor and Tom around this week.....!

A visa-run is supposed to be easy - just bring your passports and stay in another country for 72 hours, and that’s it. So, with all the paper work in order, we set off towards the border. Everything went smoothly with our passport/visa proceedures, as well as finding our way through customs without any major problems. 
Then, happy and proud of being such an efficiant team, we jumped in our car to continue our drive into Nicaragua. Some (we stopped counting at 5.....) hours later, after having paid ”fees” (read: bribes) to the helper, the helper´s helper and his helper for taking our legally owned car over the border, we headed north, to San Juan del Sur.
Nicaragua is a country with many possibilities. Beautiful landscape, wonderful beaches and untouched nature. The flavor of a military regime and dictatorship is very obvious everywhere, with a lot of similarities with Russia. A lot of people suffer from hunger, poverty and desolation, even though we saw some areas which had begun to profit from the tourism.

We stayed at an Ecolodge ”Balcones de Suan Juan del Sur” - very natural and relaxing. The first morning, Denise and Vincent took mum Ulrika for a walk..... a very long one.... before breakfast.....
